Pork Chow Mein Noodles

- 2 (11-oz.) pkgs. chow mein noodles
- ½ c. vegetable oil
- 1 lb. pork, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 4 sm. carrots, julienne
- 1 pkg. string beans, julienne
- 4 ribs celery, sliced thin
- 1 round onion, cut in half, then sliced
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. shoyu
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. prepared char siu pork, sliced
Heat the vegetable oil in a 5-quart saucepot. Add the chopped pork and garlic. Cook until pork is a little brown. Add carrots. Cook with pork for 2 minutes. Add string beans, celery and onion. Cook for 2 minutes. In a medium bowl, add shoyu, sugar and water. Stir to mix. Add to the pork and vegetable mixture. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes. In a small saucepot, add the oil, then the char siu. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes to warm. In a medium sized aluminum foil pan, add the noodles, braking it up a little and spreading it all over the pan. Let noodles stand at room temperature to warm up. Pour the vegetable mixture all over the noodles, then pour the char siu with oil over the vegetables. DO NOT mix the noodles. Serves 4.
