Pickled Vegetable for Sweet Sour Dish
- 1 medium sized turnip, sliced thin
- 1 medium sized carrot, sliced thin
- salt to sprinkle, about 2 tsp.
- 1/4 c. vinegar, cider
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 piece ginger root, grated fine
Sprinkle salt on turnips and carrots, sliced thin diagonally. Let it stand for awhile until liquid is extracted. Squeeze the liquid out and add remaining ingredients and let stand 30 minutes. Serve with sweet sour Boston butt.
