Sweet Sour Sauce for Spareribs, Meat & Seafood

  • 2/3 c. shoyu
  • 2/3 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated fine
  • 1 large piece ginger root, grated fine
  • 3/4 c. water

Boil the above sauce and add 3/8 inch thick sliced Boston butt. Cook until pork is tender, about 3/4 of an hour. Sauce can be poured over other protein foods. Serve with pickled turnips and carrots.
