Persimmon Conserve (Preserves)
- 2 pounds persimmons
- ½ cup raisins
- 1 orange
- sugar
- juice of ½ lemon
- ½ pound walnuts
Cook persimmons, put through colander. Add raisins. *Cut or grind orange. Add ¾ cup sugar to each cup of juice and fruit. Put in kettle and cook slowly until the consistency of jam. Add lemon juice and chopped nuts. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
*peel the skin of orange and slice thinly. Chop fruit of orange.
