Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

- ½ c shortening
- ½ c brown sugar
- ½ c white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 T water
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ¾ c flour
- ½ tsp soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ c oatmeal
- ½ c chopped nuts
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Cream shortening with brown and white sugar until fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, which have been sifted together, to shortening mixture, and mix well. Add oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips and blend well.
Drop on greased cookie sheet with teaspoon and bake at 350° F. for about 15-20 minutes.
