Miso Ae (Sauce)

Variation for vegetables: 1 lb. spinach, string beans, carrots, broccoli, mustard cabbage or bean sprouts.

Ae Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tbsp. miso ground
  • 3 tbsp. shoyu
  • dash of monosodium glutamate

Grind or crush sesame seeds in suribachi until fine. Add sugar, miso and shoyu. Mix well. Add any of the above vegetables (cooked and cut in 1½ inch strips) to sauce and mix well.
