Macadamia Nut Angels
Pan Size: 8×8-inch pan
Baking Time: 30-35 minutes; 15 minutes for crust
Temperature: 350°
Crust:
- 1 c. all purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 6 tbsp. butter
- Cut the flour, sugar and butter together.
- Flatten into the bottom of an 8-inch square pan.
- Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
Topping:
- 3/4 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1/3 c. milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. macadamia nuts
- Sift the dry ingredients for the topping and make a well into which you add the oil, milk, yolks and vanilla. Mix well.
- Beat the egg whites stiff and then add the sugar.
- Add the nuts to the stiff egg whites.
- Blend in the liquid mixture.
- Pour on top of the baked crust.
- Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.
- When done, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
