Dissolve 1 cup water with 4 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin. Mix together 3 small packages Jello, or equivalent, 1 cup sugar and 3 cups boiling water. Add Knox gelatin mixture and mix well. Pour into 9×13-inch pan and refrigerate. May be topped with thinly sliced canned bartlett pears, peaches or mandarin oranges.
