Jello Cake with Frozen Strawberries
Class of 1967
- 1 pkg white cake mix
- 1 pkg (3-oz) strawberry gelatin
- 2 tsp flour
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 3/4 cup salad oil
Grease and flour 13x9x2-inch pan. Place cake mix, strawberry gelatin, flour, eggs and water in large mixing bowl. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer. Add the strawberries and juice and beat 1 minute. Add the salad oil and beat 1 more minute. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.
Strawberry Frosting: Cream 1/2 cup shortening, 1 pkg (1-lb) powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in 1/2 cup frozen strawberries. Spread on cooled cake.
