Ginger-Mint Julep

  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • juice of 6 lemons
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 quart bottle ginger ale

Boil sugar and water 3 minutes. Pour over lemon juice and crushed mint leaves. Let stand till cold. Add ice-cold ginger ale and serve immediately with a sprig of mint in each tall glass. This will serve six persons.
