Chocolate-Peanut Cookies
- ½ cup shortening
- ½ cup (1 cube) margarine or butter
- 1 cup chunk style peanut butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 package (6 oz.) chocolate chips
- 1 can (8 oz.) salted peanuts
Cream shortening, margarine, and peanut butter together. Gradually add the white and brown sugars, and cream until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until smooth. Sift flour, measure, then sift again with soda into the creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and peanuts. Drop onto a greased cooky sheet, then slightly flatten cooky dough with back of spoon. Bake in a moderate oven 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 6 dozen cookies 2 inches in diameter.
