Cherry Almond Balls

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
  • Whole candied cherries (about 60 cherries)

Cream together butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and salt till light and fluffy. Add flour and almonds; mix well. Use a teaspoon of dough to roll around each candied cherry. Place on baking sheet. Bake in 325 degree oven for 20 minutes. Cool slightly. Roll in additional sifted confectioners’ sugar.

Yield: About 5 dozen
