Banana Cream Pie

  • 3 c evaporated milk (undiluted)
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ c cornstarch
  • 5 ripe bananas

Mix milk, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, salt and cornstarch. Cook over slow fire in a double boiler until thickened. Slice bananas and line baked pie crust. Add creamed mixture. Make meringue by beating egg whites until stiff, adding 2 tablespoons of sugar. Place over pie and brown in oven.
