German Apple Cake

Pan Size: 9×13-inch pan
Baking Time: 45-60 minutes
Temperature: 350°

Cake:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 4 c. pippin apples, thinly sliced

Frosting:

  • 2-3 oz. pkgs. cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
  • Dash of salt
  1. Beat the eggs and oil till foamy.
  2. Add the sugar, vanilla, baking soda, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Mix all the ingredients. Batter will be thick.
  4. Add the chopped nuts and the apples.
  5. Bake at 350° for 45-60 minutes.
  6. When done, cool; then make the frosting.
  7. Beat the frosting ingredients completely with an electric beater.
  8. Frost completely cooled cake.
