German Apple Cake
Pan Size: 9×13-inch pan
Baking Time: 45-60 minutes
Temperature: 350°
Cake:
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. cake flour
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 4 c. pippin apples, thinly sliced
Frosting:
- 2-3 oz. pkgs. cream cheese
- 3 tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
- Dash of salt
- Beat the eggs and oil till foamy.
- Add the sugar, vanilla, baking soda, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- Mix all the ingredients. Batter will be thick.
- Add the chopped nuts and the apples.
- Bake at 350° for 45-60 minutes.
- When done, cool; then make the frosting.
- Beat the frosting ingredients completely with an electric beater.
- Frost completely cooled cake.
