Irish Soda Bread

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 Tbsp. caraway seeds
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 9-inch round baking pan or cake pan.
Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut butter into the flour mix to small pea-size crumbs. Blend in raisins and caraway seeds. Beat egg, and mix with the buttermilk and sour cream. Stir egg mix with the dry mix and pour into buttered mold or pan.
Bake for 50-55 minutes or until golden brown.
