Miso Pork

  • 1/3 pound piece of pork
  • 3/4 cup miso
  • 3/4 cup shoyu
  • 1/2 cup coarse brown sugar
  • 1 piece ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon gourmet powder
  • 2 tablespoons mirin

Mix miso, shoyu and sugar in a bowl; add rest of ingredients and mix well.

Brown pork slightly on all sides in a heavy sauce pan. Add sauce, cover and simmer on low heat for 2½ to 3 hours until done and well seasoned. Slice and serve hot.
