Debbie’s Crab Muffins

From Deborah A. Visco, Unit 9, DOH, Maui

  • 12-ounces of canned crab meat (3 4.25-ounce cans)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 1/2 cups mild or sharp Cheddar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) melted butter
  • 6 English muffins

Drain water from crab meat. Then combine all ingredients except English muffins in a medium-sized bowl.

Split muffins and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Spread mixture on muffins and bake in 375° F. oven for 10-12 minutes.

EDITOR’S NOTE: For pupu, cut muffins into strips. These muffins are also good as a light luncheon dish with two to three muffin halves a person. In baking, check muffins at 10 minutes to make sure the bottoms are not over-baked and charred.
