Boiling Water Pastry
(An easy to handle pastry for beginners)
Put 2/3 cup hydrogenated shortening in bowl and gradually add 1/3 cup boiling water, creaming with fork until well mixed. Add 2 cups sifted flour and 1 tsp. salt, mixing thoroughly with fork.
Enough for one 2-crust 8″ or 9″ pie or two shells.
Extra pastry can be rolled out and frozen.
