Whole Wheat Bread

Set overnight the following in a bowl:

  • 3 pkgs. yeast
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. flour

Next morning mix and add to the yeast mixture:

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 eggs

Add 5 1/2 cups white flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour. Mix well and let stand for 1 hour in warm place. Then divide dough into four parts and knead; shape into loaves. Put into greased pans. Let rise before baking.
