Waffles

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 6 Tbsp. melted shortening (margarine or Wesson oil)
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg whites

Beat egg yolks until lemon colored. Add milk to eggs. Sift dry ingredients together (in a bowl). Make a well in sifted ingredients. Stir in eggs (yolk) with milk. (Mix quickly.) Add melted shortening. Fold in beaten egg whites.
