Tomato Soup Cake

- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. mace
- 1 cup raisins
Mocha frosting:
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp. strong coffee
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg, blending thoroughly. Add soup (to which soda has been added) and beat together. Sift dry ingredients and stir into soup mixture. Last, add raisins (which have been dredged in flour). Bake in 9″ x 13″ pan (or 2 layer pans) at 375º for 1 hour. Ice with mocha frosting.
Frosting: Cream butter and sugar. Add coffee to cocoa and then add to sugar mixture. Cream thoroughly together, then add vanilla.
