Seasoned Italian Bread

  • 1 loaf (1 lb) round unsliced white bread
  • 1 Tbsp minced onion
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning

Cut bread into 1-inch slices, being careful not to cut through bottom crust. Then cut bread at an angle to form diamond-shaped pieces. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Saute onion and garlic 1 minute in butter. Stir in cheese and seasoning. Remove from heat. Separate bread carefully; brush cut sides with butter mixture. Wrap loosely in foil. Bake 15 minutes to heat through.
