Bread and Butter Sticks
CLASS OF 1947
- 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 cup biscuit mix
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
Melt butter or margarine in 8x8x2-inch baking pan. In mixing bowl, combine biscuit mix, sugar and milk. Stir with fork till a soft dough forms. Beat vigorously 20 strokes till stiff but still sticky. Turn out onto board lightly dusted with biscuit mix; knead gently about 10 times. Roll to a 8×6-inch rectangle. With floured knife, cut dough in half lengthwise; then cut each half crosswise into 8 strips. In the pan used to melt butter, dip each strip in the melted butter, turning to coat both sides. Arrange strips in 2 rows in pan. Bake in 425 degree oven about 10-12 minutes or till golden brown. Serve warm.
Yield: 16 sticks
