Old-Fashioned Pull Taffy

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. butter

Combine sugar, water, and vinegar and cook until it forms a hard ball (tested in cup of cold water). Pour in pan that has been greased with 1 tsp. butter. As soon as cooled, grease hands and pull until a small amount becomes white and hardens. Final can be stretched into a long rope with a slight twist. Cut in short pieces with knife. Store a day to soften.
