Luau (Taro Tops)

  • 1 pkg. of luau
  • Shoyu and butter or margarine

Wash and steam leaves. Steam luau over boiling water – (Luau should never be boiled in water) for 2 hours depending on the amount being cooked. When soft, beat with a fork then season to taste with butter and shoyu. Salt it only after serving. Serves two if one package is used. According to my old family source luau boiled is almost always “bitey” – it seldom is if steamed for a long time.
