Imo (Sweet Potato) Tempura

Batter mix together:

  • 1/2 c. beer
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. all purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch

Slice about 4 potatoes about 1/4 inch thick. Dip potatoes in batter and deep fat fry until golden brown. Takes about 4 – 5 minutes.

Note: Potato can be rolled in sesame seeds before frying for extra special flavor.
