Glorified Custard Creme
Combine in Mixing Bowl:
- 6 eggs slightly beaten
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ Tsp. salt
Slowly Stir In:
- 4 cups milk, scalded and slightly cooled
- 2 TBS. vanilla
POUR into baking dish and sprinkle with nutmeg. Set in shallow pan on oven rack. Pour hot water around dish, one inch deep. Bake one hour or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Gently blend 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and ¼ teaspoon lemon rind into 1 cup sour cream. Spread over top of custard. Return to oven 5 minutes longer. Chill. Serve with Strawberries spooned over top.
