Gau (Microwave)

  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) Chinese brown sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) mochiko
  • 1 can (12 oz.) frozen coconut milk, thawed
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Sesame seeds

Dissolve brown sugar in boiling water. Stir in mochiko gradually. Add coconut milk and oil. Beat to smooth out ingredients. Pour mixture into a 5-cup tube pan sprayed with nonstick spray. Cover loosely. Microwave on HIGH for 16 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cut into pieces with plastic knife.
