Fruit Cake Christmas Bar

Crust:

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour

Cut butter into flour and sugar. Press into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Filling: Sift together:

  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

To sifted mixture add:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chopped mixed candied fruit

Pour fruit cake mixture on crust. Bake 30 – 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into bars while still warm. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
