Cornmeal Sticks

- 1 lb. cornmeal
- 2 c. coconut milk
- 1 c. molasses
- 1/2 tsp. anise seeds
- 1 tsp. salt
Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well. Wash banana leaves and cut into 6 x 6-inch squares. In the center of each leaf, place two tablespoons of the mixture. Roll up in the shape of a sausage. Tie each end with a short piece of string. Have a 3-quart pot of boiling water. Add Guanimes to boiling water. Lower the heat to medium, cover the pot and cook for 30 minutes OR steam for 45 minutes, OR bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
