Confesor’s Punch

Confesor Dias

  • 3½ c. water
  • 12 to 15 fresh basil leaves
  • 3 sprigs mint (whole)
  • ½ to 1½ c. sugar (or substitute, to taste)
  • 2 tangerines or mandarin oranges
  • 2 tangelos
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 (12-oz.) can Dole Pass-O-Guava drink
  • 4 ice cubes
  • Mint leaf, for garnish

Put water to boil, then add the basil and mint. Stir. Remove from heat and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the basil and mint (if fresh basil and mint are not available, dried herbs may be substituted but the proportions should be less, following package directions). If necessary, strain this “tea”. Add the sugar. Stir well. Juice the tangerines or oranges, the tangelos and lemons. Mix all juices. Add the “tea” to this. Add 4 ice cubes to cool. Refrigerate. Serve over ice with a floated mint leaf. Great color. Very light and refreshing.
