Cheese Frosted French Bread

(6 to 8 servings)

  • 1 (5 oz.) jar American or Cheddar Cheese Spread
  • 1/4 cup California sherry
  • 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1 long french bread (loaf)

Put Cheese spread in a mixing bowl, add sherry and blend well with a fork. Add mayonnaise, mustard and Worcestershire sauce; mix thoroughly. Cut the loaf or French Bread lengthwise in halves, then slice crosswise, cutting down to the crust but not through it. Spread cheese mixture over cut surfaces of bread and broil slowly until frosting is delicately browned. Serve piping hot.
