Cabbage Tsukemono (Pickle)
- 1 small cabbage, cut into wedges
- 1 slice fresh ginger, chopped fine
Combine following and bring to a boil:
- 2 tbsp. salt
- 4 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
- ¼ cup vinegar
- ¼ cup water
Pour hot solution over cabbage and ginger. Cool and bottle. Keep in refrigerator. Turn bottle occasionally to keep cabbage in solution.
