Sheryle Higa
- 3 C. all purpose flour
- 1-1/4 C. granulated sugar
- 1 C. old-fashioned oatmeal
- 1-1/2 C. margarine (no subs)
- 2 cans of apple pie filling
- nuts (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350°. Mix flour, sugar and oatmeal. Cut margarine into the flour mixture until the mixture forms dry pea-size pieces. Place half the mixture into a 9″x13″ ungreased pan. Press down lightly to even out the layer. Top the mixture with the apple pie filling. Even out the layer with the back of a large spoon. Sprinkle the nuts or coconut flakes onto the apple pie filling layer. Top with the other half of the flour mixture and press down lightly. Bake for one hour or until golden brown and bubbling. Note: It’s best to serve this dessert while still warm. It goes great with vanilla ice cream!
