Warabi Poke

  • 1 lb. Ahi fillet (sliced in strips)
  • 2 large, firm tomato
  • 2 cups ogo (seaweed), chopped
  • 1/2 onion (thinly sliced in strips)
  • 1 1/2 T sesame oil
  • 2# warabi (cut into 2″ strips)
  • 2 pcs. pickled turnip (chum choi), chopped fine
  • 1 T garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup shoyu

1. Place stem pieces of warabi in boiling water for 1 minute, the add tip ends into water. Turn stove off and let it stand for an other minute.
2. Rinse in cold water, drain and place in a large bowl.
3. Slice tomato in half and squeeze juice in a small bowl.
4. Slice tomato meat in strips and add to warabi along with the ogo, onions and ahi.
5. Add in garlic powder, chum choi, and sesame oil.
6. In small bowl with tomato juice, mix in shoyu and pour over poke.
Toss and mix well. Enjoy!!!
