Warabi Appetizer – Portuguese Style

  • 1# warabi
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pkg (4 oz) shredded codfish
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1″ ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup shoyu
  • 2/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup raw sugar

1. Wash warabi.

2. Cut into 1″ lengths.

3. Par boil warabi for 5 minutes or until tender. Drain.

4. Combine warabi, codfish, onion, ginger and tomatoes in a bowl.

5. Mix shoyu, vinegar, sugar and pour over warabi..

6. Toss gently. Refrigerate and serve.
