Spiced Nut Cookies

Mrs. Sachiko Okayama – Haina Macadamia

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1½ c shortening
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 5 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 c chopped nuts

Blend shortening with sugar, add eggs slowly, mixing thoroughly. Stir in nuts, then dry ingredients which have been sifted together twice.

Shape into rolls, wrap with wax paper and place in refrigerator. Slice and place on greased cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven (375° F.) for about 10-12 minutes.
