Portuguese Bean Soup

  • 1 ring Portuguese sausage
  • 2 cup red beans
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, cut fine
  • 1 small potato
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. paprika
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 small cabbage
  • 1/2 cup macaroni
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice

Cook beans in plenty of water until tender. Add sausage ring, seasonings, and cook 5 minutes. Add vegetables and macaroni, cook until just tender. Add lemon juice and tomato sauce. Cook 5 minutes more. Serve very hot.
