Custard
Mrs. Fusae Nakakura – Haina
- 2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg
- 1 c milk
- 1/8 c sugar (2 T.)
- 1/4 tsp flavoring
- Few grains salt
Mix slightly beaten egg, sugar, salt and milk. For Baked Custard—add vanilla, pour into custard cups, set in pan of water and bake in moderate oven until firm. Boiled Custard—cook mixture in double boiler, stirring constantly until the custard coats the spoon. Remove from fire and add flavoring.
