Lumpia #2

  • 1 tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 lb. ground beef or pork hash
  • MSG, salt, pepper, soy sauce to taste
  • 1 sm. carrot, diced
  • 1 med. potato, diced
  • string beans, cabbage, bean sprouts (opt.)
  • Lumpia wrappers

Heat oil in saucepan. Sauté garlic and onion. Stir in ground beef and seasonings. Brown well. Fold in vegetables. Cook until half done. Strain in colander and cool.

Heat deep fat to 375 degrees. Put 1-2 tbsp. of filling in center of wrapper. Fold edge of wrappers over filling. Wrap like envelope. Moisten edge with flour and water mixture to hold it together.

Fry in hot oil until lightly browned. Drain it vertically. Serve with Lumpia sauce if you like. Makes 2 dozen.
