Flank Steak Pupu

  • 1 lb. flank steak
  • 3/4 cup crushed cornflakes
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • Oil

Marinade:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. minced green onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. grated ginger
  • 1 lge. clove garlic, minced

Slice flank steak across the grain into 1/4 inch thick slices. Cut through every other slice. Open each piece and lay flat, butterfly fashion. Cut each butterfly piece into 3 inch lengths. Combine marinade ingredients; mix well. Add flank steak and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Coat each piece in a mixture of cornflakes and flour. Preheat oven to 350°. Fry in hot oil until lightly brown. Then bake for 10 minutes in a 9 x 13 pan.
