Chinese Style Mochi

  • 1 cup mochiko
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • ½ can an (prepared red beans)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ cup sweet potato, boiled and mashed

Mix all ingredients except an. Add warm water and knead until dough is like ear lobe. Let stand for few minutes. Break off dough and shape like manju with a ball of an in the center. Deep fry in pan of oil.
