Candied Yams with Apples

  • 4 med. yams, peeled and sliced
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • Dash salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 block) margarine
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 6 slices lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup water

Arrange yam and apple slices alternately in rows in 8×12 baking dish. Mix dry ingredients and sprinkle over yam. Dot with slices of margarine. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Garnish with lemon slices. Add water. Cover and bake at 400° for 45 minutes or until done. Baste.
