Granola

  • 5 c. rolled oats or mix of rye, wheat and oats
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sesame seeds
  • 1 c. sunflower seeds
  • 1 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. wheat germ
  • 1 c. instant powdered milk
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 c. raisins, currants, optional

Mix dry ingredients. Combine and warm oil and honey. Add to dry ingredients. Spread on 2 or 3 cookie sheets. Bake 1 hour in low oven 300 degrees F. Stir occasionally. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator. Use as cereal. May add 1 c. roasted soy nuts or peanuts for snacking purposes.
