Basic Miso Soup

Servings 6

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup dried shrimps
  • 1/2 cup strained miso
  • 1/4 teaspoon gourmet powder

Boil water and shrimps for 20 minutes and strain. Add miso and gourmet powder and bring to boil. Serve immediately.

Variations:

Tofu, fu, canned clams, oysters, fish, green onions, or pre-soaked wakame, may be added with the miso.

Sliced turnips, eggplant, Irish and sweet potatoes, taro, shredded cabbage, spinach, etc., are cooked in the stock before adding miso.
