Peanutty Chocolate Cookies
Sift together 1-1/2 cups sifted flour, 3/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt and set aside. Combine in a bowl 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 1 tsp vanilla and beat until creamy. Add one egg. Continue to beat. Then add flour mixture alternately with 1/4 cup of milk. Stir in one 6-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels and 1 cup chopped salted cocktail peanuts. Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Yield: About 3½ dozen cookies
