Shoyu Rice

Fumiko Fukumori – Puueo

  • 3 c rice
  • 2/3 c shoyu
  • 2 1/3 c water
  • 1 tempura sliced thin and chopped about 1/4″ wide
  • 1 small carrot chopped about 1/8″ thick and 1/2″ long
  • 6 stringbeans or Chinese peas (optional) chopped diagonally very thin
  • 1/4 tsp ajinomoto

After rice has been washed, add all the chopped vegetables and liquid, ajinomoto and mix well. Cook like ordinary rice

Any other kind of vegetables as: gobo, (burdock), alaimo (dasheen), chicken meat, dried shrimps, aburage and etc. can be added or substituted. Quantity of vegetable, is optional.
