Maze Gohan (Rice Mixed With Vegetables)

- 3 cups rice
- 3 cups water
Cook rice (Method 1 or 2, page 29)
When steamed and ready, mix in the following gu.
Ingredients for GU:
- ½ konnyaku
- 1 small carrot
- 6 string beans
- 6 dried mushrooms soaked in water
- ⅓ kamaboko or ½ chikuwa
- 1 aburage
- 1 small gobo
Seasoning for GU:
- 2 tablespoons shrimp flakes
- 3½ tablespoons shoyu
- 3½ tablespoons sugar
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon gourmet powder
Cut all ingredients into small thin pieces and cook in 1 cup water until vegetables are tender.
Add seasoning and cook for 7 or 8 minutes longer.
Then mix into the cooked rice. Keep rice flaky.
Serve hot.
