Cream Wafers with Creamy Butter Filling

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream
  • 2 cups sifted flour

Mix ingredients thoroughly. Chill 1 hour. Roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 1½ inch shapes. Coat with sugar on both sides. Place on ungreased baking sheet and prick in 4 places with a fork. Bake in 375 degrees oven 7 to 9 minutes or until puffy. Put 2 cooled cookies together with filling.

Creamy Butter Filling

  • ¼ cup soft butter
  • ¾ cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Blend and tint with food coloring.
