Chocolate Cake

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 c. flour (cake)
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time. Melt chocolate squares in hot water and let it cool. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with chocolate-water mixture, ending with dry ingredients. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 50 minutes. Frost with Chocolate Dobash Frosting.
